This is a new brominated flame retardant (BFR) used as a substitute of restricted BFRs. It is used in polymers and plastic products, as it is mixed into the solid matrix, such as in acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), polyurethane (PU), and polyvinyl chloride (PVC). It can also be added to glass fiber, PU polyolefin films (or mulches) used in agriculture, polyphenyl alkenes, unsaturated polyester, and synthetic rubber.
